Rattan is one of several climbing palm Calamus genres, or Plectomia Daemonorops tropical Asia, which have long, hard, thin stems. Thesis palm stems, used to make wicker and rattan furniture. The rest of the world production comes from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Myanmar.
